~Summary~

Three knocks can change everything…

"She knew. That’s why Mom hadn’t opened the door. She knew he was dead."

Twenty years as an army brat and Ember Howard knew, too. The soldiers at the door meant her dad was never coming home. What she didn’t know was how she would find the strength to singlehandedly care for her crumbling family when her mom falls apart.

Then Josh Walker enters her life. Hockey star, her new next-door neighbor, and not to mention the most delicious hands that insist on saving her over and over again. He has a way of erasing the pain with a single look, a single touch. As much as she wants to turn off her feelings and endure the heartache on her own, she can’t deny their intense attraction.

Until Josh’s secret shatters their world. And Ember must decide if he’s worth the risk that comes with loving a man who could strip her bare.

~My Review~

Ember(such a pretty name) is a normal 20 year old girl, who just happens to be an army brat. Her whole future has been planned out, she has a boyfriend (bleh), whom she has been dating for 3 years. Home from college for the holidays, that one knock at the door changes her life forever. Being part of a military family, you know when two guys show up at your door in uniform, the news is never good. Ember’s, life is completely shattered, but she meets Josh, who is there to pick her up and be her “whatever” ;)

Rebecca Yarros has the unique gift of drawing you within the first chapter. Believe me you WILL go through all the FEELS!

I love that Ember is the type of girl that you can relate to, I found myself relating to her several times. Even though I was frustrated with some of the things that she was doing, I can understand why she was making those decisions. But if I had someone like Josh, willing to help with “anything” I needed, I would not give it a second thought!

Speaking of Josh, OH-MY-HOTNESS!

Can I just say that I need one of him in my life! Haha! Josh has his own demons that he is living with, but knowing that he has gone through just makes you love him even more. He is the guy that all the girls want, but if he wants something he does not stop until he gets it.

Thank you Rebecca, for the book hangover!

Me right now!
