Gia is a 17 year rich girl, leaving in Manhattan, goes to a private school, she can shop or travel whenever she wants. But, her family is not the “typical” family, her dad is the main boss in the Mafia. At the beginning we meet Gia, as her and her friend are caught ditching school, driving without license going shoe shopping. She instantly starts crushing on the cop that pulled them over, but that is a big no no, in her family. It took me awhile to get into the book, but when I did it was close to the end. There were times when I caught myself laughing at what Gia was doing, not at the situations, but at how Gia was handling the situations. She is the normal Italian girl who is stubborn and knows how to get what she wants. She will not sit around and wait for things to fall into her lap.
There were times during the book, when I felt bad for her because all she wanted was to have a normal family, and be a normal teenager. During some spots, I thought things were missing, that’s why I only gave it a score of 3 out 5. Even though, I gave it that rating. Don’t think that I didn’t like it. I did, I laughed, cried, even at times found myself giving Gia advice :)
