ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Helen was a complete bookworm from the time she could sound out the words on the page. She’ll always be thankful for her mom allowing her to read at the kitchen table during mealtimes. Reading naturally led to writing by the time she was eight or nine – she started with fantasy stories, dabbled in contemporary fiction, and even tried a little romance. MYTHOLOGY is an urban fantasy/love story and in that way reflects some of her earliest writing interests.

Things that inspire Helen to write are bowls of ice cream with lots of Magic Shell, the lack of cats or other things she’s allergic to in the vicinity, and plugging into playlists with her Neff headphones – the knit ones with the bear’s ears.

Guardian Love- Jonathan Draper

Posted by BookGroupies 0 comments

*sigh* there are almost no word out there to even begin to describe how amazing this man truly is. He is truly magnificent and to help all of you understand why I feel this way, here is a list of some of the main reasons.

1) Handsome
2) Sarcastic
3) Protective
4) Caring
5) Deadly
6) Intelligent
7) Guardian/Mentor
8) Secretive
9) French
10) Artistic

Handsome
"He's wearing all black- a black suit with simple, elegant lines, a black dress shirt, black shoes. He has dark eye, a dark complexion, jet-black hair."

"His eyes, exactly shade of hot cocoa.

"Yes, you are quite the hottie", I say so smiling "for and old guy"

Jonathan is quite a looker, well according to the book anyways :). He pretty much has everything going for him. Chivalry which in it's self is a great quality to have, he's also very well mannered and plus come on tall, dark, mysterious and handsome...yup he's the total package ;)

Sarcastic
"When do you think you'll be back to your normal badass self? He looks amused. "I hadn't realized that my ass was so unpleasant , before." "It's an expression that means...." "Of course I know , I'm not a complete fossil.

"Me?" He pretends to look shocked. "No I wouldn't dream of tampering with my God-giving good looks."

Oh man *shakes head and bursts out laughing* he is so sarcastic, especially in the moments you wouldn't think would be appropriate. I honestly think this is one of the biggest reason why I adore him so much. He can always find some sort of lightness when everything seems bleak and hopeless ( no pun intended honest :p)

Protective
“I’ll be back shortly. Incidentally, you’ll be perfectly safe in here. Custom one-way bulletproof glass. Reinforced and embedded with aluminum oxynitride. And anyone who tries to break into the car will be hit with an electric shock much more powerful than a taser.”

“He whips around and glares at me so fiercely that whatever I was about to say disintegrates in my throat. “Hope, sacrificing yourself like that for me was reckless. Bordering unforgivable. You cannot try to influence my Fate. I am a guardian, here for one purpose only. Your life is on a different path than mine. What’s more, when Gabriel realizes that you’ve escaped, the first thing he’ll do is move the other girls to a place that we won’t be able to find, or maybe even kill them. I don’t know exactly where his other den is, and he’ll certainly do one of these two things before we’re able to find it.”

“Jonathan looks at him blankly, not reacting in the slightest to the name Troy had called me. “We will get her exactly the type of help that she needs.” He leans over and effortlessly scoops me up in his arms.”

*Sigh and swoons* He's very protective of the people he truly cares about and well of course being a guardian he's protective over human souls. He's not over bearing when it comes to being protective, he's very sweet about it.

Caring

"I'm supposed to save YOU", he whispers. I've never seen him like this before. I suddenly see the five hundred year old guardian as the teenager that he once was."

"Stay strong, cleaver girl" His fingertips caress my cheek and he kisses my forehead with soft cool lips."

He may not show his caring side all the time but he always has everyone best interest at heat and that's very endearing if you ask me. But when his caring side does come out, it will really make you want to hug the crap out of him :)

Deadly

"He pulls back his lips in an ancient, feral smile that gives me the chills. There's definite bloodlust in his eyes."

"More than ever, Jonathan's movements remind me of a wild animal, lithe and graceful and full of power."

"His eyes are aglow with power - he's measuring souls.

He is a pure force to be reckoned with, definitely someone you don't want to get on his bad side, especially if you are a demon then you don't stand a chance.

Intelligent

He's very savvy when it comes to facts and battle strategies. He's someone you can rely on to think quick but be smart about it. He looks at every angle of a situation and pick what course is the safest and the best plan of action.

Guardian/Mentor
"Guardians live so long and usually only make brief contact with members of the human race. We usually don't develop attachments to anyone human. I made an exception in you."

"He emits the Most powerful light I've ever seen. I know that it's not real, but it actually blinds me for a split second."

“He hesitates for only a second. “I used to be able to tap into souls. Not like a demon, not to incorporate it into my own. But I could probe into small, manipulate its energy, use it to alter states of mind and bend the of its owner.” He sees the look on my face before I can throw up a mask and adds, “It’s how I was able to save my wife’s soul when it had been ravaged, by releasing my own soul’s energy and giving it to her”.
" There is nothing typical about me." Jonathan shoots back

He's not your typical "guardian" he likes to break the rules and step off the beat and path. Clearly when he decided to help mentor a demon aka Micah he was going against his better judgment and his very nature.

Secretive
"He's looking at me warmly, which reminds me of what Raleigh said about it being unusual for guardians to be friends with humans."

He might tell Hope most thing about guardians and what ever information he has on demons but when it comes to himself he's pretty secretive. This almost makes him hotter :p makes you want to unravel him bit by bit. Mysterious is very in apparently with girls, it is with me.

French
"His voice has a certain kind of charisma to it now, and I pick up the slightest hint of an accent, one I can't quite place."

"Relax, ma chérie. We still have plenty of time"

"For my wife, ma trésor."

Jonathan was born in Amiens, Champagne, France. He may not have a strong accent anymore but even having a slight one is a pretty attractive quality. Maybe that's was he's so charming :)

Artistic
"His living room is almost like a mini-art gallery - the walls are painted a dark red and display lots of photographs in beautiful frames."

"The artist's name on the placard is listed simply as "Draper"."

*Grin* who doesn't love a man who has an artistic eye. He's been artsy all his (500+) years of live so he's really good at it. He owns his own art gallery and can spot a great piece of art a mile away. Photography is a really big part of his live and that's really fascinating seeing as he even finds time for that with his other "job".

There is so much more that can be said about him, he's truly one of a kind, a unique soul you can say :). There are so many different sides to him but all of them are equally great! His darkness is one of the many reasons I was drawn to him, he's good don't get me wrong but he does have a darker side to him. He's proper and old fashion but that's one of the aspects I admire most about him (wish guys were really like that). He's charming in every sense of the word, I hope this post has opened up your eyes to a truly wonderful book guy :)

may your hearts be forever melted thanks to this French man ;)

Our Book Boyfriends

Posted by BookGroupies 0 comments
We both wanted to share our yummy list of book boyfriends! Three lists total. One list that we made together and then we have our own list

Get ready to SWOON!!! ;)

Our list!

1). Vincent-Revenants by Amy Plum

“Before I saw you, I hadn’t cared for anyone for . . . well, for the good part of a century, and it felt like my heart had been permanently disconnected. I wasn’t even looking anymore. And without expecting anything . . . without any hope at all, suddenly you were here.”

2). Jules-Revenants by Amy Plum

“It's with a feeling of despair that I return her to his arms. I want him to be angry. I want him to challenge me. Because then the truth will be out and I won't have to hide my feelings. But he trusts me too much to suspect me. And I love him too much to hurt him.”

3). Rush-Too Far-Abbi Glines

“Blaire,

This teardrop represents many things. The tears I know you’ve shed over holding your mother’s piece of satin. The tears you’ve shed over each loss you’ve experienced. But it also represents the tears we’ve both shed as we’ve felt the little life inside you begin to move. The tears I’ve shed over the fact I’ve been given someone like you to love. I never imagined anyone like you Blaire. But every time I think about forever with you I’m humbled that you chose me.

This is your something blue.

I love you,

Rush”

4). Woods-Twisted Perfection-Abbi Glines

“I’ll be whatever she needs me to be. I can’t walk away from her; I tried. I’m hooked. And now I’m about to lose my mind because I don’t know how to help her. I just need to go find her and hold her the rest of the damn day. I need to know she’s okay.”

5) Kaidan Rowe- Sweet Evil- Wendy Higgins

"I'm tired of living like I'm not alive." He dropped his hands from my face to grip my shoulders. "I'm bloody sick to death of it. I want one night to be alive. With you." He closed hi eye and leaned his forehead on mine. "Please, Anna. One last night and we'll go back to being safe again. I need this. I need you."

6). Hades-The Goddess Test-Aimee Carter

“I see the sunrise now," he said. "Because of you, the days have color. Eternity has meaning once more. You found every broken piece of me and put me back together, even though I hurt you too many times for me to deserve it. You are the glue that holds me together. If I lose you, it will be the end of me. The end of everything good in this world.”

7). Galen-Of Poseidon by Anna Banks
“Emma, we don't have to kiss. She already knows I want to sleep with you."
He cringes as soon as he says it. He doesn't have to look up to know the sizzling sound in the kitchen is from Rachel spitting her pineapple juice into the hot skillet.
"What I mean is, I already told her I want to sleep with you. I mean, I told her i wanted to sleep with you because she already thinks I do. Want to, I mean-" If a Syrena could drown, this is what it would feel like.”

8). Finnick-Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

“Really, the combination of the scabs and the ointment looks hideous. I can't help enjoying his distress.
"Poor Finnick. Is this the first time in your life you haven't looked pretty?" I say.
"It must be. The sensation's completely new. How have you managed it all these years?" he asks.
"Just avoid mirrors. You'll forget about it," I say.
"Not if I keep looking at you," he says.”
9). Ian-The Host by Stephenie Meyer

“Don't you think, then..." Ian paused and leaned closer to me so that I couldn't seem to see anything around his face, just snow and sapphire and ink. "That maybe you should make the most of what time you have? That you should live while you're alive?”

10). Stark-The House of Night by P.C. Cast

“His torn lips didn't stop Stark's cocky smile. "You're my queen, and anyone who says different can fuck off.”

11). Peeta Mallark- The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

“So that day, in music assembly, the teacher asked who knew the valley song. Your hand shot right up in the air. She stood you up on a stool and had you sing it for us. And I swear, every bird outside the windows fell silent...and right when your song ended, I knew - just like your mother - I was a goner.”

Megan's List-

1). Jonathan-Mythology-Helen Boswell

"When do you think you'll be back to your normal badass self? He looks amused. "I hadn't realized that my ass was so unpleasant , before." "It's an expression that means...." "Of course I know , I'm not a complete fossil.

2). Mycah-Sweet Oblivion-Bailey Ardisone

"I will always come for you. I would walk through fire if I had too".

3). Cam-Fallen-Lauren Kate

“Cam stepped into the clearing. His eyes were rimmed with a thick, shimmering gold shadow, and it shone on his face in the moonlight, making him look like a wildcat.”

4). Ren-Tiger's Curse-Colleen Houck

“The dangerous one was Ren. Innocent though the white tiger he appeared to be, he was a compelling predator. Utterly irresistible -- like a Venus flytrap. So alluring, so tempting, so deadly. Everything he did was seductive and possibly hazardous to my health.”

5). Kishan-Tiger's Curse-Colleen Houck

“... A hot shower is going to feel heavenly."

He raised an eyebrow. "Would you like to go first."

"No, you go ahead."

His eyes twinkled as he regarded me, "It would be more heavenly if you told me you wanted to conserve water."

My mouth opened in shock. "Kishan!"

He winked at me. "I didn't think so. Can't blame a guy for trying.” for kishan

6). Damon- Evermore-Alyson Noel

“He pulls me into his arms, his touch calm and soothing, but unable to erase the truth. "I have to go," he finally whispers. "But Ever, if you want to love me, if you truly want to be with me, then you'll have to accept what we are. I'll understand if you can't.”

7). Aiden-Between-Cyndi Tefft

“I’d never seen a guy in a kilt before but I had to admit I really liked it. My gaze traveled up his bare calves and over his back. His muscles flexed as he bent to arrange the twigs and limbs for the fire. The kilt covered his legs at one moment, then revealed them anew as he stood up…I suddenly remembered the saying that Scots don’t wear anything under their kilts and pushed back a crazy impulse to see for myself.”

Jazzy's List-

1). Jace-City of Bones-Cassandra Clare

“And next time you're planning to injure yourself to get me attention, just remember that a little sweet talk works wonders.”

2). Will- The Infernal Devices-Cassandra Clare

“He bent to put his cheek against hers. His breath against her ear made her shudder with each deliberately spoken word. "I have wanted to do this," he said, "every moment of every hour of every day that I have been with you since the day I met you.”

3). Adam-Shatter Me- Tahereh Mafi
“He whispers, "You have no idea how much I've thought about you. How many times I've dreamt"-he takes a tight breath- "how many times I've dreamt about being this close to you." He moves to run a hand through his hair before he changes his mind. Looks down. Looks up. "God, Juliette, I'd follow you anywhere. You're the only good thing left in this world.”

4). Augustus- The Fault in Our Stars-John Green

Choices by author Sydney Lane

Posted by BookGroupies 0 comments

Book blurb:

Choices is a new adult contemporary romance intended for audiences 18+. Although Choices is included in a series, each book can stand alone.

Choices

Fate brought her here, but will her choices destroy her dreams?

Quincy Priest made all the right choices in her small town, black-and-white life. But being perfect is tiring. So. Very. Tiring.

Wanting desperately to step out of her sister's shadow, Quincy jumps at the opportunity to attend college with her best friend. The quiet bookworm with family secrets comes out of her shell. But when Quincy meets not one, but two perfect guys, she has to make a choice. In doing so, she might forfeit the relationship she secretly longed to find.

Declan. Sweet, handsome, and perfect. He makes her feel cherished for the first time in her life.

Brody. Sexy, hot, and irresistible. He could tear down her carefully built walls.

Before she can become the woman she wants to be, Quincy will make mistakes. And suffer one unimaginable loss.

Book Review:

I just have to say that I am very thankful that I was given the opportunity to read this story before it was released :). For her first book it's amazing :) Trust me you don't want to miss out on this, or you may regret it later.

This story is one of those books that you can relate too in so many ways. Everyone of us faces our own demons, we all feel guilt, love, passion, friendship, heartache and lust. Sydney really hits the make on all the previously stated emotions. Her characters truly speak to you and make you see that life is worth every moment and you should live life to the fullest because you never know what may happen.

This book made me want to pull my hair out, had me sitting on the edge of my seat and it also pulled at my heartstrings. I went through so many emotions while reading this book, not only that but I went with little sleep for a few nights because I just couldn't put it down. She really hooks you and sucks you in with the prologue alone...after reading it you will go crazy with  wanting to know what brought it about.

Not only is the concept of the story really good and well written but her characters are very real, their life and their experiences are everyday things regardless if they happened to you or not. I really liked Quincy, Jenna, Brody and Declan. We all have that one friend who is logical but brightens our day no matter what mood we are in and that's what Jenna is. As for Declan we all know that one guy who is so sweet and adorable and who is always there for you. Brody *faints* ugh I so loved him *dreamy sigh* he's your typical bad boy who has a good side to him. And last but not least Quincy the main attraction of the story. She like most of us girl, insecure, shy but very sweet. I loved her, she was one of the characters I felt closest to. I've felt most of what she's felt, I've been to the point where I've felt very guilty over the past but I mean who hasn't right? I don't typically like the main female lead but I genuinely liked her :) she didn't annoy me lol.

Over all I loved this book and would recommend this to everyone I know. I give it 5 star on originality, creativity and just the over all experience of the story line. I think all of Sydney's hard work really shows in this piece of art that she created. I can not wait to read more of her work!
It's a must read for everyone, it's a great read, just pure brilliance. I wanted to get to the end so bad but now that its over it's bittersweet, I can only imagine what Sydney feels :p I would be ok with a second book to this one hahah.

Patch's Guardian Angel Tour

Posted by BookGroupies 2 comments
    OMP (Oh My Patch)

*Sigh* Patch Cipriano where to start with him.

1) Sexy
2) Mysterious
3) Sarcastic
4)Strong
5) Angel
6) Sweet/Romantic
Song that reminds us of Nora and Patch

Sexy
“Patch was dressed in the usual: black shirt, black jeans and a thin silver necklace that flashed against his dark complexion. His sleeves were pushed up his forearms, and I could see his muscles working as he punched buttons. He was tall and lean and hard, and I wouldn't have been surprised if under his clothes he bore several scars, souvenirs from street fights and other reckless behavior.

Not that I wanted a look under his clothes.”

*Sigh* This quote alone is self explanatory, Patch is a walking talking sexy machine *wink*, he has all the features us ladies are looking for. Killer abs, messy hair, dark eye, chiselled features and a voice that makes you want to melt.

Just a little more Patch sexiness for you:

“His hands slid up my neck, searing hot. Pressing his thumbs gently into my throat, he tipped my head back. I felt his lips come against mine sohard he stopped whatever name I'd been about to call him from coming out. His hands dropped to my shoulders, skimmed down my arms, and came to rest at the small of my back. Little shivers of panic and pleasure shot through me.
He tried to pull me against him, and I bit him on the lip.
He licked his lip with the tip of his tongue. "Did you just bite me?"
"Is everything a joke to you?" I asked.
He dabbed his tongue to his lip again. "Not everything."
"Like what?"
"You.”

“I watched him pitch the ball at a table neatly lined with six bowling pins, my stomach giving a little flutter when his T-shirt crept up in the back, revealing a stripe of skin. I knew from experience that every inch of him was hard, defined muscle. His back was smooth and perfect too, the scars from when he’d fallen once again replaced with wings—wings I, and every other human, couldn’t see.

Mysterious
“How did you get in?"
"I move in mysterious ways."
"God moves in mysterious ways. You move like lightning - here one moment, gone the next.”

When you first meet him, he's just this weird, hot creepy guy in Nora's class. Through out the first book he always remained a bit of a mystery. But I think that's part of what makes him so alluring. The dangerous, bad boy mysterious side to him.

 Sarcastic
“You smell good, too,” said Patch
"It’s called a shower.” I was staring straight ahead. When he didn’t answer, I turned sideways. “Soap. Shampoo. Hot water.”
"Naked. I know the drill”

Oh Patch *sigh* we could go on all day with quote after quote of his sarcastic ways  He's honestly one of the most sarcastic book boys we've had the pleasure of meeting. Not only does his sarcasms make him sexy as hell but it also makes him very entertaining.

“I don't go out with strangers," I said.
"Good thing I do. I'll pick you up at five.”

This has to be one of my all time favorite quotes, manly because it was their first encounter or date
“Tacos."
"Tacos?" I echoed.
This seemed to amuse him. "Tomatoes, lettuce, cheese."
"I know what a taco is!”

Strong
"Patch gave me a secret smile, then shifted his weight back, cradling the ball into his chest. He dropped his right shoulder, brought his arm around, and sent the ball flying forward as hard as he could. There was a loud crack! and the remaining three pins scattered off the table."

He's a force to be reckoned with, he's deadly, fast and you won't see him coming. He's the type of guy you don't want to get on his bad side. Even though he has great physical strength, he has great mental strength as well. He's good at strategizing and tries to keep a clear and leave head in any situation.
Just to prove our point this is what Nora says:

“Patch wasn't the kind of guy mothers smiled on. He was the kind of guy they changed the house locks for.”

“But instead of taking the cue to leave, Patch crossed to Scott
in three steps. He flung him around to face the wall. Scott tried
to get his bearings, but Patch slammed him against the wall
again, disorienting him further. “Touch her,” he said in Scott’s
ear, his voice low and threatening, “and it’ll be the biggest
regret of your life.”
Before leaving, Patch flicked his eyes once in my direction.
“He’s not worth it.” He paused. “And neither am I.”

Angel
“But if I hadn't fallen, I wouldn't have met you.”
Angel, what more needs to be said on this matter. Yes technically he's fallen but regardless of that fact he is still an angel.
"How does this whole guardian angel business work? Am I the only person who can see you? I mean, are you invisible to everyone else?"
Patch stared at me like he hoped I wasn't serious.

"You're not invisible?" I squeaked. "You have to get out of here!"
I made a movement to push Patch off the bed but was cut short by a searing jab in my ribs.
"She'll kill me if she finds you in here. Can you climb trees? Tell me you can climb a tree!"

Patch grinned. "I can fly."

Last but not least on this angel business here's the last one:
“I looked to the window. Patch was gone, but a single black feather was pressed to the outer pane, held in place by last night's rain. Or Angel Magic”

“Hate to disappoint, but no feathers. I came to Earth stripped naked.”

Sweet/Romantic
“I love you.” His voice was straightforward, affectionate. “You make me remember who I used to be. You make me want to be that man again. Right now, holding you, I feel like we have a shot at beating all odds and making it together. I’m yours, if you’ll have me.”

*Faints* There is not enough room to even describe Patch's sweet and romantic side. He comes off as a bad boy or just a plain jerk, but that's the furthest from the truth. Patch is a big ole softie, he has a giant heart but only Nora is privy to that amazing gift.

“I missed you, Angel. Not one day went by that I didn't feel you missing from my life."

“Stay with me tonight. Let me hold you even if that's all it is. Let me keep you safe.”

“He bowed is head into my throat, groaning softly. "I loved you long before you loved me. Its the only thing I have you beat at, and ill bring it up every chance I get." His mouth pressed to my skin, took on a devilish curve. "Lets get out of here. I'm taking you back to my place, this time for good. We have unfinished business, and I think its time we do something about it.”

“I don’t like the idea of dragging you into something
that could get messy fast. If you need one more reason, I love you. This is uncharted territory for me,
but I need to know that at the end of the night, I have you to come home to.”

“They said the moment I fell in love with you was the moment you'd leave.”

And last but not least here are two quotes that really melted our hearts.

“I love you,Nora. Whatever happens, promise me you'll remember that. I don't care why you came into my life, only that you did. I don't remember all the things I did wrong. I remember what I did right, I remember you. You made my life meaningful. You made my life special.”

“I would lay down everything I possess, even my soul, for you. If that isn't love, it's the best I have.”

*fan art by me- Megan Elliott)

Sweet Oblivion and Sweet Escape

Posted by BookGroupies 0 comments
We were given the great honor of being able to share with all of you the awesome new cover for Sweet Oblivion and the never before seen cover of book 2 Sweet Escape.
-About the Authors-
Bailey Ardisone is a collaboration between two sisters who were born and raised outside of Chicago, Illinois. They combined their creative forces to write the first book in their series, called Sweet Oblivion. Though the name Bailey Ardisone applies to both of them, for the sake of answering questions they will each take on one of the names to make things easier.
The older sister of the two in Bailey Ardisone, has always loved getting lost in books, movies, music, and art. Fantasy is her favorite genre. She gets her love of words from their grandmother who together used to write poems, short stories and even greeting cards. Her biggest goal would be to travel and explore the world. She loves going to the beach, enjoys football sundays, and spending time with friends and family.
The younger sister of the two in Bailey Ardisone, has always held a strong love for anything art related. Whether it be drawing, music, or constantly day-dreaming, her mind never stops imagining wonderful stories and possibilities. She finally got to put some of those ideas to use with her new found love of writing novels. Some other things she is forever obsessed with are Japanese Anime and Manga, animals, traveling, her home city of Chicago and anything in miniature form. One thing she can never get enough of is sleeping/taking naps and sour skittles.
-About Sweet Oblivion-
Sweet Oblivion received a MAKEOVER! We truly hope you enjoy the new cover art!
When two worlds collide, nightmares become reality. And some secrets...are best kept in Oblivion. ...Until there is hope.
Have you ever wanted to forget? Nariella Woodlinn has. Many times. Especially when her already frustrating life gets turned upside down by a mysterious boy who randomly shows up in her small town. And she can’t seem to understand anything about him, despite how much she tries.
Nari hates everything about her life, except for her best friend Rydan, but now that they’ve been separated during their senior year of high school, she has to learn to make new friends without him. When strange, unexplainable phenomena start becoming an every day part of her life, Nari struggles to come to grips with reality. And with love.
~
Naminé has responsibilities. Duties. It is her obligation to fulfill all that is asked of her by their King. But when a glimmer of hope is introduced to her by a prisoner she tends to, it means life or death for her and her people. She does all that she can to turn that hope into reality, and finally end the vicious war that has been ensuing since she was born. Even if that means keeping it secret from her King. Even if it means carrying out the biggest betrayal against the King ever seen during her time.
She has hope. She will fulfill her duty. She will not let her people down.

I suddenly felt anxious, excited even, at the prospect of laying eyes on Mycah again. On being enveloped in his woodsy scent. The way my soul felt complete and whole again only his presence alone could accomplish. ...Were we really just friends?
And then there he was.
As I took the last stair, his eyes found mine from the "Greeting Room" he quietly sat in, drinking from an antique teacup.
He watched me carefully as he slowly put the cup to his alluring lips and took a sip. My heart danced wildly in my chest with every step I took, drawing closer and closer.
I waved at him, not able to speak just yet.
“Morning, beautiful,” he whispered. His English accent made the words sound musical. Or maybe it was his silky voice that did it. Or it could have been the combination of the two, I really didn’t know. Either way, my stomach did a flip.
And then I thought, it must have been the way he was looking at me, not even trying to hide the desire that flooded his aqua eyes as soon as they locked onto mine.
The sun played with his eyes, bringing out the unique colors and making them more vivid. Even though he was lit up by the streaming sun that shone brightly through the large bay window, he never looked more dangerous.
And he never looked more sexy.
Well, that could be debatable.
I mean, if you wanted to count the time he was dripping wet and practically naked, well then, one really couldn’t say.
But this moment was definitely a top contender for first place.
He stood up, keeping perfect posture and foreign demeanor exquisitely intact, and came over to me.
“You alright?” he asked, lips pulling up in a side smile. I nodded, half hating the spell he always put me under, half totally loving it.
He reached out and slowly slid his hand into mine, intertwining our fingers together and pulling me toward the front door. He chuckled and slightly shook his head at the ground.

~Nari~
I laid mesmerized from the position on my back, staring up at the cloudless sky. It was as blue as a Robin’s egg. If not more blue. The sun shown extremely bright, but the rays did not scorch my skin. The air was comfortable. Very comfortable. It was the perfect temperature. Warm, without being too warm, and no humidity.
I did not move.
I was afraid to move in case this was all just a dream, and any slight stir would make it vanish, throwing me back into tormented reality. It must be a dream, right? Clearly, I had busted my head against the tree trunk and knocked myself out...And I was only imagining this while Zaylie, I was sure, was worried and trying to wake me up.
Right?
I could feel the grass beneath me. Soft, lush, exquisite. As if I laid against the perfect bed made just for me. I was Goldilocks and it was just right.
A colorful bird soared above me. But as it descended closer, obscuring my view of the sky, I realized it was not actually a bird at all. It was the strangest butterfly I had ever seen. Its wings were a rainbow of colors - and it was huge. Bird-like huge.
But I didn’t feel frightened or grossed out like I usually did by insects. This was different. It felt different here. The butterfly flapped its wings so gently and effortlessly. I numbly reached up while it landed weightlessly on my fingers.
The moment it touched me and started cleaning its antennae, even though I could barely feel it on me, I got the striking feeling that this was real. Very real. I quickly sat up, causing the vivid butterfly to take flight again, and gazed around the beauteous expanse encircling me.
