~Summary~

In a glittering underwater world, nothing is as it seems...

For the past twelve months since her parents’ death, seventeen-year-old Miranda Sun has harboured a dark secret — a secret that has strained the close relationship she once shared with her older sister, Lauren. In an effort to repair this broken bond, Miranda’s grandparents whisk the siblings away on a secluded beach holiday. Except before Miranda gets a chance to confess her life-changing secret, she’s dragged underwater by a mysterious stranger while taking a midnight swim.

Awakening days later, Miranda discovers that she’s being held captive in a glittering underwater city by an arrogant young man named Marko...the King of this underwater civilisation.

Nineteen-year-old Marko intends to marry Miranda in order to keep his crown from falling into the sinister clutches of his half-brother, Damir. There’s only one problem. Miranda is desperate to return home to right things with her sister and she wants nothing to do with Marko. Trying to secure her freedom, Miranda quickly forms an alliance with Robbie — Marko’s personal guard. However, she soon discovers that even underwater, people are hiding dangerous secrets...

~My Review~

The book starts out with Miranda, who is at the beach with her family. We instantly learn that Miranda and sister, Lauren, have been through a tragedy. Since the death of her parents, Miranda has been holding onto a secret that is eating away at her. That night she goes out for a swim with her sister, she is pulled underneath the water. Miranda wakes up somewhere that she doesn’t recognize. There she meets Robbie. Eventually, Miranda finds out that she is in an underwater city that is miles and miles down into the ocean. But this is no ordinary underwater city. In my mind I kept thinking they were mermaids….I won’t say what they are! That is something that you will have to find out lol

Marko is the king of the underwater city, he has a few siblings who are not normal, he wants to help the citizens of his city, but of course there is something that gets in his way. Marko wants to marry Miranda, in order to help his city. He and Robbie are like brothers, since they have been friends since they were kids. But since Miranda and Robbie become friends, can he trust Robbie?

Within the first chapter, Vanessa grabs your attention, and keeps it until the end of the book. Even at the end of the book, you are going to want more! I was on the edge of my seat several times, so anxious to find out what was going on, there were even tears! Vanessa, has a way with words, the way she describes things, it’s like you are really there, feeling what they are feeling, makes me wish that this place was real. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Go forth and buy the book!!!
